- [00:00:23] <aseeon>
how to fix that ?
- [00:00:36] <_keturn>
there should be an openid/extensions/ directory in the source package, and you can copy that over to the installation directory
- [00:01:00] <aseeon>
what installation directory ?
- [00:01:41] <_keturn>
wherever the openid package is in your python path. (import openid; print openid.__file__)
- [00:02:54] <aseeon>
hmm there is something wierd gowing on... import openid is importing 2.0.2 version
- [00:04:11] <aseeon>
ok fixed that
- [00:16:50] <aseeon>
seems your suggestion fixed the problem
- [00:16:58] <aseeon>

hi
- [16:04:35] <marsje>
I just created an OpenID using phpMyID on my own server
- [16:05:24] <marsje>
but when I try to use it on plaxo.com I get an error
- [16:05:34] <marsje>
I'm not sure if the error is on my side or their side
- [16:13:40] <marsje>
the error in question: "Unable to redirect to the specified OpenID provider: failed to curl_easy_perform() [a timeout was reached]."

I had some other reports of compatibility problems with plaxo yesterday. If your server works with other things and it's just plaxo, it might be a problem on their side. You should probably send them a note about it along with any debugging information you can gather.

Ugh. lists.openidenabled.com is down.
- [20:31:44] <marsje>
keturn: already sent plaxo a mail, but I didn't get any response yet
- [20:31:54] <marsje>
thanks

can anyone here help with a question on the openID PHP impl? I'm tyring to figure out why Consumer->complete needs a return_to URL
- [21:04:06] <keturn>
its for checking the validity of the response. the return_to appears as a signed parameter in the id_res message, and one of the things that code needs to verify is the return_to in the message was the one that actually got used
- [21:05:22] <keturn>
(it's in the OpenID 2.0 spec in a section titled "Verifying the Return URL")
- [21:06:30] <plexq>
thats unhelpfull if the return URL needs to be dynamic
- [21:06:32] <plexq>
oh wel
- [21:06:45] <plexq>
I guess thats what sessions are for (UGH)
- [21:07:44] <keturn>
I think you should be just passing in information from the current request there
- [21:08:59] * plexq doesn't really understand how it all fits together
- [21:09:19] <plexq>
I though auth_try redirected to the open id server, then it redirected back to return_url
- [21:09:34] <plexq>
return_url checked all the URL params, and then decided if auth was successfull
- [21:09:36] <keturn>
right
- [21:10:34] <plexq>
I guess I could just use PHP_SELF
