for an association request, no urls are necessary are they?
- [02:46:19] <bassinboy>
just ns, mode, assoc_type, and session_type right?
- [02:50:47] <flaccid>
openid uses http so URLs are involved
- [02:52:55] <bassinboy>
but i do not need any more request parameters other than noted correct? .. for some reasion i'm getting an error.... also, i am not using encryption for session_type
- [02:54:09] <flaccid>
whats the error
- [02:55:02] <flaccid>
seems like what you saying is basically correct, http://openid.net/specs/openid-authentication-2_0.html#associations
- [03:00:33] <bassinboy>
null object but i'm not sure exactly where it's happening
- [03:00:59] <flaccid>
sounds like php

Hey everyone. Is it possible to test this package on a dev environment (localhost) or must i upload to my provider to test
- [06:07:04] <flaccid>
which package?
- [06:07:48] <psylovibe>
sorry the openid library, i guess i need to setup a open id server?
- [06:13:27] <yangman>
if you're testing just the consumer component, localhost setup is fine
- [06:13:54] <yangman>
if you're testing the provider component, it has to be accessible via an URL from the consumer you're testing with
- [06:16:27] <psylovibe>
yea im testing the consumer part. I tried it on localhost but i get some trust issues but when i upload it to my host it works.
- [06:46:52] <flaccid>
define trust issues
- [07:28:07] <psylovibe>
gotit working thanks

ok so who here has had experience using openID to allow useres of a site to access their google docs and calanders and gmail through a non google site?
- [20:39:22] <doodlewolfdude>
or does anyone know if there is a way to auto generate 10,000 + google/openID accounts
- [20:45:00] * gxgcristea (~gino@ip65-47-28-158.z28-47-65.customer.algx.net) has left #openid
- [20:47:16] <yangman>
doodlewolfdude: google isn't an OID consumer
- [20:48:06] <doodlewolfdude>
well fuck
- [20:48:38] <doodlewolfdude>
then why can i use my google account in an OID enabled site
- [20:49:09] <yangman>
because google _is_ an OID provider
- [20:49:58] <doodlewolfdude>
crap
- [20:51:40] <doodlewolfdude>
so if i want my site to be able to integrate a user's google systems like docs, calander and gmail they would have to first create their own google account?
- [20:52:18] <yangman>
of course. they wouldn't have those things without a google account
- [20:52:32] <yangman>
and this all has nothing to do with OpenID. you want to look into google apps integration
- [20:55:15] <doodlewolfdude>
yeah...
- [20:55:23] <doodlewolfdude>
you know what channel that is?
- [20:55:44] <doodlewolfdude>
i need 1-800-dial-a googleDEV
- [21:07:02] <doodlewolfdude>
well thanks
